Floor plan tweeks and Tonal Colour: The Ultimate family renovation.

Back in November of 2019, we met with these lovely clients with a wish to refresh their house and make it a family home. Through COVID lockdowns and eighteen months later this Camp Hill home was completed. The 6 month renovation project, 6 months of planning and 6 months of waiting for COVID to end and we got there and it was worth the wait! This home has been revitalised from the tired home it was to be a refined, refreshed and rejuvenated.

The client’s brief was to bring the home back to life and enhance the floorplan to be more practical and open. By adding 7 square meters to the lower level of the home the floor plan became more usable and defined. The additional space was added to the entry to provide the clients with a space that was dedicated to the entry of the home. This then enabled for a staircase that was more open and had a custom window that not only provided great natural light to both the top and bottom levels but also made a feature of the home’s city views.

By making some minor adjustments to the layout of the upper level we were able to make the space more bright, open and cohesive. Creating a walk in pantry, adding a powder room and installing a skylight the upper level was revitalised and refreshed. Adjusting the colour scheme to become bright and white further enhanced this.

For the interiors we added pops of colour throughout the home. By accessorising with layers of tonal colour and texture the home has become bright and happy. For every house that we work on, every single one is unique and perfectly captures the individual personalities of the families that live in them. With these clients having a beautiful collection of artworks and classic style we started there and worked around these elements. Simple things such as reframing existing artworks to bring them back to life and keeping a clean and simplified colour pallet enabled us to capture this families personalities.

After such a long hall to get this project over the finish line, multiple COVID delays and many many cups of coffee this project turned out to be the understated, refined and fresh slice of paradise for this lovely family. Who wouldn’t want to escape the outside world and return to this soothing sanctuary!
