Lets take a Shelfie

Dust off those old books and start by stacking them both horizontally and vertically to create interest. If your books have a coloured spine, show it off and group it with similar coloured books. Don’t forget to use decorative pieces throughout the shelves to add height, pattern and colour.

Stack em Up!

Bookends are super helpful, but don’t feel like you have to use a purpose made bookend.

A large vase, piece of coral or that weird looking rock face your babe made for you for mothers day works perfectly! Stack a pile of books and push them up against the standing books to wedge them into place!

Texturise

Layer textures within the shelves. Use timber bowls or ornaments, little rattan trays or boxes to add depth of colour and earthiness to shelves. The texture will add visual interest and a box is always great to hide those random bits and pieces.
